The mission of Klarna Media is to advance Klarna One Media Platform by driving higher value for our consumers, merchants and publisher partners. Klarna Media is investing in building a state-of-the-art content marketing platform and audience management platform. The Klarna Media Lab is responsible for defining, innovating, and building performance content delivering products that facilitate product discovery for consumers, maximize merchant sales and increase publisher profits.
As a Data Engineer, you will implement, orchestrate and operate distributed software systems to efficiently process, organize and query internet-scale data at Klarna.

What you’ll get to do

• Assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
• Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes  
• Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS Glue, Lambda, EMR, Athena and SQL technologies
• Build analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition 
• Work with Data Scientists to design data pipelines for predictive model training and deployment,  and assisting them with data-related technical issues

To succeed in this role, we think you should have

• A degree and solid foundation in computational science 
• Strong software implementation experience with at least one of the programming languages ( Java, python and etc.). 
• Familiarity with AWS data services and Jenkins
• Knowledge of Hadoop Mapreduce framework
• Strong hands-on skills in data wrangling over massive datasets using distributed computing platform
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in online advertising, ecommerce or related areas will be a plus
