Job summary
Amazon’s Last Mile Connected Vehicles organization plays a crucial role in providing a superior mapping experience for our fleet drivers in addition to keeping them and the community safe as they navigate to deliver packages. As part of organization, you’ll partner closely with other scientists and engineers in a collegial environment with a clear path to business impact. We have exciting problem areas such as to augment the maps with rich features from street videos in addition to providing an experience that improves drivers safety. You will be leveraging the latest in computer vision and deep learning techniques to build products that run on the best-in-class in-vehicle edge computing platform as well as the cloud to deliver a superior experience.

Key job responsibilities
Successful candidates should have a deep knowledge (both theoretical and practical) of various machine learning algorithms for large scale computer vision problems, the ability to map models into production-worthy code, the communication skills necessary to explain complex technical approaches to a variety of stakeholders and customers, and the excitement to take iterative approaches to tackle big, long term problems.

Basic Qualifications


  • PhD in Computer Science, or other related field with exposure to computer vision, video analytics, and machine learning;
  • 6+ years of applying large-scale CV/ML/DL algorithms for solving real-world problems in industry, including object detection, object segmentation, object tracking, 3D computer vision, vision transformers, GANs, attention mechanisms, LSTM, and video analytics.
  • Proficiency in both traditional machine learning as well as deep learning algorithms;
  • Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, etc...);
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Java;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publications in top CV/ML conferences or journals;
  • Experience with popular CV/ML toolkits (OpenCV, Scikit-learn, Point Cloud Library, etc);
  • Experience with optimizing and deploying CV/DL models onto edge devices (with restricted resources)
