Research Engineer for large-scale speech models - International Remote

About the Role

In this position, you will be working with leading researchers and the community to develop very large models for spoken dialogue.

You'll be leading efforts to curate and create large audio datasets as well as building, optimizing and training large-scale neural network models.

The role will encompass a great amount of engineering to optimize communication/compute in very large distributed setups using efficient scaling libraries like DeepSpeed, fairscale, mesh-tensorflow or distributed TF, PyTorch or JAX as well collaborations with external organizations on open-source projects.

About you

You'll enjoy this role if you have a passion for building, optimizing and training large-scale neural network models, and have a deep interest for internal and interconnections of GPUs/TPUs and recent accelerating hardware.

In addition, we are looking for someone that is fascinated by recent developments in transfer learning for audio (e.g. Wav2Vec2) and enjoys applying state-of-the-art machine learning methods to spoken language.

Experience with an HPC orchestrator such as SLURM as well as research experience in deep learning for audio would be a plus.
