North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Central Operations seeking a highly talented and motivated Data Engineer to join the Quantitative Business Intelligence Tools (QuBIT) team. In this role, you will be for responsible for building a data lake and implementing data pipelines from various Fulfillment and Transportation applications used to provide seamless data access/visibility across NACF Network with visibility spanning from Fulfillment Center teams to corporate leadership. This NACF network includes hundreds of fulfillment centers charged with completing and shipping hundreds of millions of packages to customers each year! Every package we ship out is an opportunity for improvement, translating to better prices and service to our customers.

Key job responsibilities
You should be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and be able to design and implement data solutions using these technologies to empower internal customers and scale the existing platforms. This team has a broad scope including all of NACF, allowing creative freedom to explore broad business problems and areas of opportunity needing scalable and fast-moving solutions. Application breadth can range from creating a new solution to an old problem, or diving into a space to create new value for our operators in Fulfillment Centers. You should also be enthusiastic about building deep domain knowledge about Amazon’s business and the fulfillment quality space. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. You need to really enjoy working closely with your peers in a group of very smart and talented engineers.

About the team
Amazon's Quantitative Business Intelligence Tools (QuBIT) Team owns a myriad of reporting-focused software products and services, acting as the centralized business intelligence team for Amazon's Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) organization. Basic Qualifications


- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
- Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.
- Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
