Engineering Manager, Data Infrastructure, ABS

Picsart is looking for an Engineering Manager to join the ABS team of the Data Infrastructure group to help scale and manage the team and technologies. The team's goal is to provide the AB experimentation, remote configuration, user segmentation platform that can be used internally and by business partners. This platform is an essential part of the data infrastructure that helps Picsart make data-informed decisions for product and business development.

Responsibilities

• Support, invest in, and develop an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers with clear expectations via practices such as 1:1s, goal setting, and constant feedback
• Create a high performing and positive work environment based on transparency, accountability, and trust
• Create growth opportunities for team members and address gaps via non-technical skills mentoring and performance management. Help make our people shine!
• Grow and coach your direct reports - to manage a team of 6-9 individual contributors
• Recruit world-class talent for your engineering team
• Collaborate with the product manager in roadmap creating, feature planning, dependency management, risk management, and continuous process improvement for an optimal flow (with appropriate use of metrics)
• Be responsible for roadmap execution and delivery of projects with high quality
• Collaborate with other teams to unblock dependencies 
• Provide visibility and transparency to team progress on product initiatives
• Act as a facilitator in technical discussions
• Distill complex information into easy-to-understand concepts, and lead a team through ambiguity
• Support decisions about high-level tech solutions, help your engineers make the right choice with your development experience

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience in building and leading successful and highly-performed Agile teams
• 5+ years of experience with a focus on modern web applications and cloud services, ideally in large-scale distributed microservice systems
• Strong experience working with at least one of these languages like Java, Kotlin
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP as well as Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
• Track record of implementing Monitoring and Observability best practices for high load applications
• Good understanding of analytics and AB testing concepts and experience using one of the popular analytics/AB platforms such as Facebook Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Optimize, or Mixpanel
• Proven track record of building and leading excellent tech teams while driving business as well
• Experience in an agile development environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear business focus
• Extraordinary organizational and planning skills
• Advanced written and verbal English communication skills
