Product Data Engineer (HW)

We are looking for a Product Data Engineer (HW) to join our Operations team in Oulu, Finland. HW Product Data is a key asset for the company. In this role, You will be working in close cooperation with the hardware teams in R&D and the teams in Operations. Your main responsibility is to ensure the excellent level of HW Product Data availability, quality, reliability and transparency.

To succeed in this position, you should have ambition for precision but also the ability to understand the big picture. You know the principles of Product Data and Product Lifecycle Management, such as BOM and Revision Management. You are an effective user of different IT systems supporting the business requirements, such as PDM/PLM and ERP. Organized way of working and understanding the process-driven actions will give you good starting points for this position. You also communicate effectively in peer environment to build up the holistic view in the engineering change and HW product data update situations.

You will participate in Operations Management Team’s ongoing tasks in Engineering Change (ECM) and Product Data & Lifecycle (PDM/PLM) Management. Your role includes the preparation of Engineering Change Notices for the Manufacturing Operations. You will own the master data of manufacturing/purchasing items, manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) and Sales Item BOM. Your responsibility of the HW product data creation and maintenance is valid for the product’s whole life cycle. Your role focuses on the operational side of HW Product Data Management but can also contain occasional contribution for continuous development of processes and IT systems.

What You will do:

• Establish yourself throughout the multi-functional Oura teams as Product Data Engineer
• Team up with your key contacts in mechanics, electronics, and operations teams to create and to drive Oura Product Data and Engineering Change Management efforts
• Execute named responsibilities in ECM Process, such as preparing ECNs for Manufacturing Operations in co-operation with Technical Project Managers, Mechanic/Electronic Specialists, Firmware Developer, Test Engineers, Quality, Supply and Logistic Team Personnel
• Create HW product data according to Program/Project Requirements
• Maintain HW product data in PDM system according to ECM process requirements
• Give inputs for continuous development of HW Product Data Management

Requirements

• Proven relevant experience in HW Product Data Management in PDM system
• Knowledge and skills in principles of BOM, Revision & Engineering Change Management
• Problem solving skills in basic technical issues in PDM system
• Experience in working with technical details in specialist environment
• Ability for holistic thinking via facts and details
• An eye for data accuracy
• Co-operative, patient and supporting attitude
• Excellent communication and cross-functional team working skills
• Ability to present results orally and in writing, clearly and effectively
• Self-driven and forward-looking attitude
• B.Sc in Industrial Engineering and Management or related field
• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
