We are looking for an experience Cloud DBA to join our Delivery team. Our primary responsibility is to ensure our SaaS environment runs smoothly using DevOps best practices while leveraging AWS native technologies. You’ll work with our team of Engineers, Architects, Developers and Product Managers to ensure our SaaS solutions are highly available and perform to our customers’ high expectations.
Responsibilities:·         Monitor and tune production databases in our AWS environment·         Diagnose and provide solutions to problematic queries and database performance issues·         Assist development teams with database architecture and design in an AWS cloud environment·         Provide input as a subject matter expert when considering database options (relational, document, key-value, graph, etc.)·         Provide input to ensure we are following security best practices·         Manage multiple job duties through efficient task management·         Perform regular database maintenance duties such as backups and restores·         Communicate effectively with business partners and clients when needed
Qualifications:·         10+ years of experience as a database administrator using MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server or Postgres·         10+ years of experience developing database solutions in cooperation with software development teams·         5+ years of experience as a database adminsistrator, using AWS managed database services (MySQL, MySQ Aurora, PostgressSQL, Amazon DoumentDB, DynamoDB, Reshift)·         Expertise in writing performant queries·         Experience in troubleshooting production database issues·         Experience using Amazon Data Migration Services·         Deep understanding of Amazon RDS Performance Insights and metrics·         Solution driven with ability to understand the big picture·         Lifelong learner and passionate about learning new things, taking on new challenges and continually growing ·         Highly organized, detail oriented and able to work autonomously with minimal directionPreferred:·         AWS Certified Database·         Experience with one or more of the following: API security, REST, SOAP Experience in a healthcare or another highly regulated industry·         Certification Software Development experience·         Experience monitoring and tuning production DB2 databases
