Senior Data Engineer- Guidewire Live- CANADA- (REMOTE OPTION)

Guidewire is searching for a Senior Data Engineer who is passionate about all things data, from polishing data under the hood to transforming complex data sets in mind blowing ways. You will help build our next generation of data analytics tools to help insurance companies glean actionable insights into their operational performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical mastery:
• Architect an impactful, performant, and scalable stack and unified data pipeline that fear no challenge
• Write production code to lead our developers from the front


• Team leadership:
• Challenge product management to provide highly usable and insightful features
• Champion innovative software development methodologies across data flow technologies


• Execution:
• Deliver quantified business outcomes for customers with products that deliver the future today and make us proud
• Build trust via transparency, communication, and consistent delivery that is on-scope and with outstanding quality

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 to 8 years’ experience in role developing complex data-oriented applications
• Deep understanding of data flows, data lake architecture, ETL, and processing of structured and unstructured data
• Experience building and managing AWS services especially, EKS, EMR, EC2, S3, Athena, and Airflow
• Hands on experience using open-source technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and Airflow
• In depth knowledge of databases and SQL, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Excellent skills in Python and other programming languages, coupled with a deep understanding of object-oriented software design patterns
• Proficient with Core Java and frameworks like Spring/Spring Boot
