Requirements

We believe strong data and analysis make up the backbone of successful and scalable decision-making. We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual to join SEDNA to lead our internal Data Analytics efforts and build a function as we scale that can enable a data-driven approach across the organisation.

You will be responsible for:

  • Defining and driving execution of the Business Analytics roadmap along with key executives and functional stakeholders.
  • Building the foundations of a scalable Data Analytics function within SEDNA.
  • Working closely with our Data Engineering team to prioritise which data pipelines are built, and working with them to ensure data is clean and monitored.
  • Providing clean, tested, well-documented, and well-modelled data sets, helping to build the most important organisational dashboards, and enabling users to self serve and access data and insights when they need it.
  • Advocating for the development of our Data Stack to extend the capabilities and impact of Data within SEDNA.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering roles.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data modelling concepts, and structuring new data tables
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience with transformation layers (DBT)
  • Experience working with data visualisation tools such as Tableau & Metabase
  • An ability to break down and explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
  • An experimental mindset with a launch fast and iterate mentality focused on measuring results and impact against clear objectives.
  • Experience in a startup environment, comfortable operating at a high pace and dealing with ambiguity.
  • A clear passion for staying up-to-date with and learning new data and analytics skills independently and continuously.

Nice to have:

  • A desire to build a small team around you as the business scales and our data needs grow, experience managing a small team is a plus
  • ETL/ELT knowledge, experience with Airflow DAGs to manage script dependencies
  • Python coding skills, particularly in the areas of automation & integrations
  • A strong statistical background in maths or science is a plus

We are a global CREW. This opportunity is a flexible role, where you can work remotely and with your fellow SEDNA Crew in the offices 2-3 times a week.

We have offices in London, Vancouver, and Singapore. We find regular in-person collaboration beneficial along with remote work, so we ask employees within a reasonable traveling time to one of our offices to come in 2-3 times a week, and those farther away to visit monthly or quarterly, at our expense.
