Storable is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Insights team and play a key role in providing data capabilities to business analysts and leaders across multiple business units and functional departments. In addition to delving into the data, you will help build queries and data structures that meet business needs, serve as a “go-to” expert on the core data sources of truth across Storable, and provide a strong point of view in data validation. You will have a deep understanding of Storable’s data landscape and you will leverage that understanding to build new tools to help leadership answer new questions and unlock previously unexplored strategic directions.

 We’re looking for someone who can confidently find technical solutions to answer complex questions, coordinate with team members across the organization, and think creatively to solve problems all with minimal oversight and in a short period of time.

What you will do everyday:

  • Delve into a wide array of data across our deep product suite to assist in the design of relevant data models, including outlining dimensions and measures needed, for answering business questions
  • Perform analysis to assess the quality, meaning, and origin of data sets
  • Ensure that regularly used data is clean, up to date, and governed (employing ETL tools, Tableau Prep, or coordinating with our Data Platform team as necessary)
  • Document important data structures, definitions, etc in a clear and concise way to make it easier for teams to build reports and dashboards 
  • Interface with counterparts in Data Engineering and Engineering on new or existing data sets to unlock new data capabilities for the organization
  • Assist Product and Engineering teams with A/B test set up and analysis
  • Consult with Product and Engineering on working with large data sets, particularly consumer data or behavioral or usage data
  • Collaborate with leadership to organize, monitor, and assess the value and potential next steps of strategic initiatives
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements for action by cross-functional teams (Data Analysts, Data Platform, or other)
  • Teach other analysts how to use new tools, technologies, or tables

What you need to bring to the table:

  • 1-3 years of relevant Data Analyst or Data Engineering experience 
  • Proficiency with SQL (joins, unions, sub-queries, temp tables, etc)
  • Experience with database design and architecture
  • Experience with Segment
  • Experience with Excel
  • Some experience with Tableau or other similar data visualization tools
  • Some experience with Tableau Prep or other ETL tools
  • Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical problems and solutions to non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to coordinate and deliver work alongside technical and non-technical disciplines (Data Engineers and Business Analysts)
  • Ability to coordinate, organize, and execute on objectives independently with light guidance from manager or peers
  • Flexibility and nimbleness
  • Creative, imaginative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity

Bonus points

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Python experience recommended
  • Salesforce reporting experience
  • Zoho Analytics reporting experience
  • Experience with data mining tools (Mozenda, rapidminer, etc.)
  • Experience in statistical modeling tools (R, Stata, etc.) 
  • Experience working with big data tools (AWS, Azure, MongoDB, Databricks, Snowflake, Hadoop etc.)
  • Experience with Netsuite
