Data Operations Engineer - Contractor

Quest Analytics is seeking a Data Operations candidate to execute our Data ETL and Ingestion process.

In this role you will:

• Chaperone data through ETL pipeline including Ruby, Pentaho, and Python tools 
• Manage variability from incoming datasets and update configurations 
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues 
• Update code to fix issues and improve reliability and performance 
• Answer questions about pipeline processes to other teams (liaison) 
• Streamline processes to reduce manual steps and time required (automation) 

You will need:

• Some general engineering work and principles in one or more languages. 
• Practical experience using Python to analyze and manipulate data. 
• Some familiarity with Ruby 
• A reasonable level of professional experience working with Relational Databases and writing SQL 
• Experience working with Excel 
• Experience working with various data formats including Excel, CSV and JSON. 
• Critical thinking and debugging skills. 



• The candidate should also have an awareness of: 
• Git 
• NoSQL Databases such as MongoDB 
• Interacting with Restful APIs using tools like Postman, a web browser or an IDE like VSCode.
