This position requires an expert in data engineering and governance. You will lead a small team of engineers who are passionate about creating data parsers and inference engines and enjoy the challenge of creating clean, elegant, scalable code. Your expertise in ETL, Data Storage and Data Governance will help us solve complex problems while your insights will help us look ahead to the bigger picture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the data engineering team
  • Define objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for overall data
  • governance including data quality, risk mitigation, and compliance.
  • Lead discussions on data definition, taxonomy, and classification based on lineage and
  • transformation of data.
  • Define and implement an MDM strategy to align with the Data Governance Framework to ensure
  • standardization, quality, governance, and single source-of-truth.
  • Collaborate with product managers, software engineers to implement new features and improve
  • system throughput and scalability.
  • Mentor other developers in best coding practices, testing and documentation.
  • Develop data ingestion solutions for the cloud and on-premise
  • Build scalability and performance into the data platforms to meet the growing needs of our
  • customers
  • Review Code, suggest improvements and ensure the quality of the code.
  • Provide second and third level support for data ingestion related issues.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of data test suites.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional data engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in team leadership.
  • 3+ years of data governance experience.
  • Strong understanding of ETL techniques and developing custom data loaders.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and be willing to roll up your sleeves and execute.
  • Solid understanding of professional methodologies and practices used to develop and test
  • complex software solutions.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment on a scrum team.
  • Experience with Computer networks and networking systems a plus.
