We have a new opportunity for a Senior ICT Engineer/Designer in our Data Management Team 

 

About the Team:

Lancashire County Council's in-house Digital Services team have a vacancy for an ICT Engineer/Designer to continue their career in a dynamic, innovative department with over 450 staff within its data management team.   

This vacancy will utilise your skills and experience enabling you to support the transformation of our Digital Services and add real value to the Council and its citizens.  

 

About the Role:

This role will give you opportunities for: 

  • Influencing the business to align with the digital data strategy, enabling LCC to become a digital first organisation 
  • Designing, building, and deploying efficient, scalable, automated ETL/ELT pipelines 
  • Developing Azure Synapse pipelines which load data into Azure Data Lake/warehouse  
  • Creating dimensional data models enabling toolset like Power BI to take full advantage of created data assets 
  • Supporting development work, ranging from conducting data reviews to capturing data stories, helping customers make sense of their business data. 
  • Liaising, advising, and negotiating with key stakeholders on requirements and proposing innovative solutions that meet their needs 

 

About you:

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is eager to demonstrate and use their expertise in data management, problem-solving and communication to play a vital part in the delivery of a data management capability, while at the same time developing the skills of the less experienced members of the team.

You will have detailed knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud platform.  

Over and above, you will have experience of:   

  • SQL Server (SQL Server Management studio) 
  • Visual Studio   
  • Microsoft Azure data fundamentals including, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse and Azure SQL 
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (ideally utilising Azure DevOps)
