We’re looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to join the Strategy & Analytics (S&A) team to define, develop, and deploy the foundations of our analytics stack. Day to day, you’ll manage our end to end stack – data pipelines, warehouse, data modeling layer, and business intelligence. You’ll be a highly collaborative partner with other S&A leads to enable analytics at scale and set this hyper growth company up for success.

- You are an experienced data engineer with a strong track record for designing, building, deploying, and managing a data stack
- You have a strong sense of how to use data to answer critical business questions and are motivated by unlocking that capability across the company

- You are a strong communicator, excellent project manager, and grity
What you’ll do
- Manage Abnormal’s data stack - Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Sigma
- Transform our raw data into S&A consumable datasets with our key business logic implemented
- Level up our data infrastructure and governance by defining our process for deployment, internal standards for high-scale data model code, and documentation
- Ensure data quality by implementing re-usable data quality frameworks
- Support growth other analytics engineers on the team and across other teams via feedback and mentoring
- Compartmentalize and secure our sensitive data
- Facilitate other ad hoc requests as needed
Experience you’ll need
- 4+ years of experience transforming data into consistent and reliable datasets
- Expertise in SQL and advanced knowledge of at least one scripting or statistical programming language (Python, R)
- Strong understanding of analytical data-warehousing concepts
- Ability to write clear documentation and communicate complex technical topics to non-technical resources
- Experience leading or mentoring team members on technical projects - direct reports or management of consultants a plus
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize, unblock, flag risks, and push progress forward
- Experience w/ modern data stack tools (e.g. Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Sigma / Looker / Tableau)
