Lead Analytics Engineer

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to join the Strategy & Analytics (S&A) team to define, develop, and deploy the foundations of our analytics stack. Day to day, you’ll manage our end to end stack – data pipelines, warehouse, data modeling layer, and business intelligence. You’ll be a highly collaborative partner with other S&A leads to enable analytics at scale and set this hyper growth company up for success.

• You have a strong sense of how to use data to answer critical business questions and are motivated by unlocking that capability across the company

• You are a strong communicator, excellent project manager, and grity

What you’ll do

• Manage Abnormal’s data stack - Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Sigma 
• Transform our raw data into S&A consumable datasets with our key business logic implemented
• Level up our data infrastructure and governance by defining our process for deployment, internal standards for high-scale data model code, and documentation 
• Ensure data quality by implementing re-usable data quality frameworks
• Support growth other analytics engineers on the team and across other teams via feedback and mentoring
• Compartmentalize and secure our sensitive data 
• Facilitate other ad hoc requests as needed

Experience you’ll need

• 4+ years of experience transforming data into consistent and reliable datasets
• Expertise in SQL and advanced knowledge of at least one scripting or statistical programming language (Python, R)
• Strong understanding of analytical data-warehousing concepts 
• Ability to write clear documentation and communicate complex technical topics to non-technical resources
• Experience leading or mentoring team members on technical projects - direct reports or management of consultants a plus 
• Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize, unblock, flag risks, and push progress forward
• Experience w/ modern data stack tools (e.g. Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Sigma / Looker / Tableau)
