Principal Data Engineer

The Everbridge Critical Event Management (CEM) Analytics team builds intelligence products to enable decision-makers to detect risks from actual or emerging threats to personnel, facilities, supply chain, and technology. We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join our team of software and machine learning engineers.
This is a fully remote position based out of Mexico City.

What you will be doing:

• Design, build, and maintain the data pipelines and models powering the CEM Analytics platform
• Work with software engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and customers to build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide enterprises and governments with actionable insights to keep their people safe and business running
• Mentor junior team members and establish data engineering best practices

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience working with SQL
• 3+ years of experience building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
• 2+ years with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Experience with modern BI tools (e.g., Looker, ThoughtSpot + dbt)
• Experience with data warehousing architecture and understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Azkaban, Airflow)
• Familiarity with stream-processing platforms and message queues (e.g., Flink, Kafka)
