The Position
As a Data Scientist, your role is to identify and explore patterns in our proprietary datasets, source and perform due diligence on external datasets, and develop new datasets, algorithms, and tools to improve The Tie’s products including the Tie Terminal and APIs.
As a member of the The Tie Labs team, you are also responsible for interfacing with Token issuer stakeholders. You will leverage Tie data offerings to help clients make more targeted and educated decisions in marketing, PR, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.
What You Will Work On
- Explore, visualize, and validate our proprietary cryptocurrency data sets.
- Collaborate with our developers to source, research, test, and analyze new data sets to include in our suite of products.
- Interface with our research team to write and contribute to research reports, media outlets, and other publications.
- Communicate with business stakeholders (internal and external) to identify and execute on opportunities to optimize decision making.
- Conducts statistical analyses to develop strategies.
- Builds predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
- Identifies data patterns and trends.
- Proposes solutions and strategies to business challenges.
- Presents information using data visualization techniques.
- Documents all processes and research.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or relevant experience
- At least 2 years experience with SQL and Python or R, and related tech stack skills (e.g. AWS, DBT, Web Apps)
- You have a strong interest in data science, finance, and cryptocurrency. Prior professional experience in crypto is a huge plus
- You thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment where there are always new projects and challenges
- Extensive background in data gathering, preparation, and analysis.
- Experience using business intelligence tools and data frameworks.
- You’re self-driven and will be able to work in both a team environment and work independently toward solutions, with the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment to drive stakeholder alignment and scale objectives
- Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills
- You have the versatility and interest to learn new technologies

Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 + Commission
Location: New York City / Remote considered
