The Ads Economics team is looking for an experienced data scientist to help build and maintain econometric data and models in Spotify Advertising. We use the science of Economics to shape strategy and products. We do foundational causal inference research and work closely with business leaders to inform business decision making through data and science.
In this role, you will help build data products and surface insights to understand connections between advertisers and listeners, perform causal analysis, and estimate impact of our ad products. You will join a centralized Economics team of researchers and data scientists to build algorithmic insights and novel research. If this sounds interesting, please apply!

What You'll Do
- Lead data science solutions from end to end
- Deliver with independence on challenging large-scale problems with complexity and ambiguity
- Write code (Python, R, SQL, etc.) to obtain, manipulate, and analyze large dataBuild econometric/ML models and design experiments to solve specific business problems
- Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to key partners
- Work closely cross-functional team of economists, engineers, product owners, and business decisions makers
Who You Are
- You have experience in a similar data science role and a degree in economics, statistics, or similar quantitative subject areas
- You are comfortable building complex and big datasets and maintaining them
- You have the technical competence to perform more advanced analytics using your coding skills for analytics and data extraction (such as SQL, Python, R)
- You have experience in causal inference and experimental designBroad knowledge of ML methods, statistical analysis, and problem-solving skills
- You have built statistical models with proven business impact
- You are able to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and conduct deep discussion with engineers
