About The Role
Data scientists use data to shape the direction in which companies grow. At Veho, we are looking for someone to be the primary partner for cross-functional stakeholders to understand our ground operations performance. When a metric is ahead or behind expectations, you will help to dig in to drive meaningful, actionable insights that help the business performance improve or double-down on success. You will also be tasked with forecasting and opportunity sizing to help business stakeholders evaluate trade-offs in different approaches, and create realistic targets for driving business performance.

Responsibilities Include:

• Build, maintain, monitor, and improve numerical model pipelines in one or multiple areas of Data Science expertise, such as machine learning and linear programming
• Developing custom or improving existing data models using predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, ground operations, and other business outcomes.
• Design and implement non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project, inclusive of data acquisition, pre-processing, and analysis
• Utilizes predictive modeling to run classification, regression, segmentation, NLP, and time-series models to address business needs.

What You Bring:

• Minimum 3 years experience as a data scientist.
• Proficiency in R or Python, where the former is preferred.
• Be familiar with structured/unstructured data
• Exposure to big data: extraction, processing, filtering, and presenting large data quantities (100K to Millions of rows) via SQL and data pipelines
• Industry experience in defining and building metrics, performing business analysis, and quantifying decisions through the utilization of data
• Competent in machine learning principles and techniques.
• Demonstrable history of devising and overseeing data-centered projects.
• Ability to relay insights in layman's terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisions.
• Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in data science, mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, or similar.
