Senior Data Engineer
The Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) team at SiteMinder is the central BI and Analytics team catering to all analytical needs across the company. This profile would play an important role as part of the core data engineering and Ops team which is part of the EDMA.
As a Senior Data Ops Analyst based in our Bangalore office, you will be part of the core team responsible for all the data modelling and analysis projects using SQL, Python and various AWS data stack tech catering to various BI and analytics projects

As the Senior Data Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Build optimized summary layers and perform in-depth data analysis catering to various BI and analytics projects
• Optimize the existing BI data pipeline by implementing best practices
• Build strong functional and business knowledge of various applications and business process systems like Siteminder Apps, Salesforce, Zuora, etc.
• Cater to day to day Data Operations and Adhoc data analysis requests
• Participate in various data deep-dive and data discovery projects to analyze various data sources and share the finding

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Will have 6+ years of experience in data analysis or data ops role with strong data analysis and analytical skills
• Looking for someone who could join in a month’s time.
• At least 3+ years of experience in data analysis and machine learning projects.
• Advanced skills in data analysis using SQL and Python/R
• Ability to design and implement Dimensional and Fact tables
• Have a good understanding of the entire data architecture landscape right from data integration and transformation from source applications to end-user BI solutions
• Experience designing and building complete ETL processes moving and transforming data for ODS, Staging, and Data Warehousing (must)
• Ensure the best possible performance and quality in the ETL Jobs/Programs
• Familiarity with complex data lake environments that span OLTP, MPP and Hadoop platforms
• Have experience in using Machine learning for optimization of data pipelines
• Have a good understanding of Data science landscape
• Translate requirements from the business and analyst into technical code
• Utilize ad-hoc techniques to perform on-the-fly analysis of data
• Identify and test for bugs and bottlenecks in data related solution
• Very good understanding of AWS data tech stack would be an added advantage
• Good experience in working with geographically and culturally diverse teams
• This role demands meticulous communication and documentation skills. Should be able to discuss projects with remotely located managers and work well in in-person and remote team situations
• Work under minimal supervision and leverage your knowledge, experience, and judgment to accomplish well-defined goals
