Engineering Manager, Data Engineering

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager, Data Engineering, who will be responsible for managing a high-performing team of developers focused on the areas of (but not limited to) data products, data pipelines, machine learning and data science in order to build an engaging ecosystem that helps founders grow their business.

Responsibilities: 

• You will be deep into the details of both new product initiatives as well as iterations on our core platform within the data products division
• As an Engineering Manager, you will be overseeing projects of varying scope and complexity with a deep focus on our data platform and data governance
• You’ll organize and manage a team of data engineers, while also being required to roll up your sleeves to write and review code as needed
• Be responsible for identifying opportunities for growth within your pod, as ownership opportunities (e.g. spec, technical design, rollout, etc.) are shared amongst all Engineers
• Continuously push the boundaries of our tech stack while coaching all levels of Data Engineers on best practices, both internal and industry standard
• Work in an agile environment with biweekly sprint plans while owning product direction in the near term.

• Are interested in Cleaco’s core domain - finance, technology, eCommerce and entrepreneurship - and want to help founders win (experience as an entrepreneur is a big plus)
• Are excited to help identify new technologies and approaches to solving problems

Technical Requirements:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field, or equivalent experience
• Have 3+ years managing Software Engineering teams, with a focus on building high-quality and scalable products
• Have 5+ years of experience building data-intensive applications with technologies like (but not limited to): Python, SQL, Postgresql or Snowflake
• Have a proven track record of scaling data-intensive applications on top of large, distributed systems in the Cloud (GCP Preferred, but AWS and Azure are relevant)
