Clinical Data Analyst

 We are seeking a Clinical Data Analyst to be a strategic member of the Quality and Patient Safety team, who can use a combination of data and existing healthcare expertise, programming abilities, and critical thinking skills to solve complex issues as well as identify new and innovative uses and transformations of available data. The individual will be responsible for collating data from various sources, normalizing and cleaning data, and building targeted reports to support internal clients and patient safety initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Performs data extractions, manipulation, and summarization of databases to create analytical datasets and provide solutions to support clinical activities.
  • Participates in the design, testing, validation, analysis, and merging of complicated data structures from various sources, including electronic medical records.
  • Actively contributes and engages in written and oral communications of analytical content/results and recommendations to the clinical and patient safety teams.
  • Create graphical representations of the data to tell a story and summarize findings and recommendations that are presented and adapted for audiences with a range of technical and clinical experiences.
  • Use of Tableau, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and other tools to perform analyses
  • Track and assess clinical performance against key metrics and provide reports to leadership
  • Help clinical and other teams solve operational problems using business intelligence

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Two to four years of experience as a Healthcare Data Analyst
  • Experience with programming and data analysis programs
  • Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel pivot tables, graphs, and charts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
  • General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, processes, and information flow
  • Healthcare experience, preferably with Quality or Patient Safety departments
