Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking a qualified mammographer to contribute to the delivery of our growing mammography programme. You will be comfortable teaching both in person and delivering online learning. You will contribute to the teaching and assessment of students at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels within the Medical Imaging discipline. This is the opportunity to build capability within our framework for mammography education in Aotearoa/New Zealand and requires someone with mammography expertise and enthusiasm to collaborate with our clinical stakeholders and students.  There could also be opportunities for the development of new mammography pathways aligned to role extension which could include on-campus teaching and short courses.  Prior teaching experience and possession of (or working towards) a higher qualification would be advantageous.

This is a part-time (8 hours per week) role, on a fixed term contract ideally starting June 2024 but can be flexible. The salary range for this role is from $100,696 to $132,495 p.a. pro rata, plus VSP depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

He kōrero mōu | About you

We are seeking a Skilled mammographer, with relevant clinical and technical expertise and knowledge of the latest research developments in the field, able to identify barriers and support team teaching during training and upskilling. 

You will need:

  • Post-graduate qualification in mammography or breast imaging.
  • Current or be eligible for the New Zealand Clinical Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the relevant clinical environment.
  • Previous experience as a workplace clinical tutor/trainee educator.
  • Understand the significance of the Treaty of Waitangi, with a commitment to culturalism.
  • Sound understanding of professional ethics.

A master’s degree or PhD would be advantageous.
