Requisition Summary

PACCAR Financial Corp facilitates the sale of premium-quality PACCAR vehicles in 22 countries on four continents worldwide by offering a full spectrum of creative, flexible financial products and value-added services specifically tailored to the transportation industry. 

 

This position serves as a trusted analytics expert, responsible for providing PACCAR Financial Corp (PFC) with Business Intelligence and Advanced Data Analytics/Data Science across functional areas of Sales & Marketing, Used Equipment Sales, and Credit. The selected analyst will be responsible for developing a detailed understanding of PFC process and systems, sourcing data from a wide range of data platforms, integrating relevant data to support business requirements, and developing analytic products and data visualizations that enhance business efficiency.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Data Science initiatives by providing robust analysis and developing analytic tools focusing on pricing optimization, product development, and risk identification within a complex environment
  • Deliver timely, relevant, and accurate analytic results to business users at all levels
    • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets
    • Develop high-performance SQL queries to support reporting and analysis
    • Create and support executive-level dashboards using Tableau
    • Provide rapid responses to ad-hoc analytic requests
  • Enhance the value of PFC’s data assets
    • Maintain expertise in emerging technologies and analytic tools
    • Expand the department’s analytic capabilities by developing automated deployment pipelines, APIs, and data processing applications using on-premises and cloud-based tools
    • Maintain strong working relationships with IT departments and regional finance offices to facilitate adoption of digital transformation initiatives
    • Develop and present data science solutions to senior managers and executives
  • Support PFC initiatives as an integral member of an effective cross-functional analytics team

Skills / Competencies

  • 2+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, with strong business acumen and communication skills
  • Understands and can apply foundational statistical concepts, and apply appropriate techniques to analyze data and generate useful business insights
  • Highly motivated self-directed learner with a creative mind, insatiable curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and development approaches
  • Proficiency with SQL querying and use of relational database platforms such as SQL Server and Snowflake
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel: adept at leveraging Excel functions and able to develop and edit VBA-scripted functions.
  • Proficiency with data visualizations and tools such as Tableau or Power BI

 

Qualifications Desired

  • Demonstrable in-depth understanding of data structures and ETL processes (including SSIS)
  • Expertise in a data-centric programming language such as Python or Javascript
  • Hands-on data modeling experience
  • Proficiency with core AWS services
  • Basic understanding of commercial financial principles

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics/Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research or related field required
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Computational Finance, Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, MIS or related field; or professional certifications such as CFA, CBIP, or MSCE in Business Intelligence desired

The salary range for the Financial Business Intelligence Data Analyst position is $75,100 -$112,300 annually.
