Senior Software Engineer (Machine learning) - Recommendations Team (Remote Eligible)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Sr. SE) to join the Recommendations team. The Recommendation team is working on a core feature for Smartsheet to help our users leverage the full potential of the product. In this team, you will build a machine learning framework that powers a recommendation engine that helps users learn the full potential of our product.

You will report to an Engineering leader in our Bellevue office, and you have the option to work remotely from any Smartsheet registered location within the United States.

You Will:

• Participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
• Implement new features and improve the ones we have already built
• Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution
• Write clean and efficient code in Java based on product specifications
• Develop reusable JavaScript components used across our product (we use React, Redux, JSX, JavaScript, Typescript, NodeJS)
• Work with other team members in your team and collaborate with other teams for any dependencies

You Have:

• 5+ years software development experience
• 4+ years full-stack web application development, with Java and React
• Experience with Python
• Experience working in ML frameworks is a plus
• Experience building highly scalable, high availability applications
• Experience building Java-based scalable back-end services
• Experience building REST based APIs
• Experience developing microservices and software solutions using AWS
• BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, equivalent industry experience, or equivalent educational experience
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
