Analytics Engineer - Talk

Talk Vertical is the team within Spotify responsible for building the best tools for audio creators across Podcasts, Video and Live. We have three platforms that help us deliver a great creator experience: Anchor (the platform that allows you to create, distribute, monetize, and grow a podcast, all for free), Spotify for Podcasters (the platform that makes it easy to understand and engage with your listeners on Spotify), and Greenroom (the platform that allows anyone to stream or listen to live audio).

What you'll do:

• Own Talk Mission’s data stack, which includes building/improving pipelines, unit testing, alerting, and handling migrations
• Become the data librarian for Talk Mission, understanding dependencies, dataflows and writing solid documentation to help collaborators navigate through our ecosystem
• Maintain, fix and optimize core data pipelines for all Talk Mission datasets, being proactive about data changes and making Analytics easier for Data Scientists
• Build foundational datasets and segmentations from third-party or internal data sources that help make analysis easier for Data Scientists
• Contribute to the development of the growing Analytics Engineer function and wider analytics and Data Science community at Spotify
• Develop a deep appreciation of the podcast creator landscape and how podcasters engage with our products.

Who you are:

• Deeply curious; interested in how podcast creators build podcasts and the future of audio creation.
• You have 2+ years of experience in a similar role developing and maintaining data pipelines and working with large scale data using SQL and Python. Knowledge of Google BigQuery is a plus.
• Experience in conducting ETL with large and complicated datasets and handling DAG data dependencies
• Additional skills as a plus: Experience with Data Build Tool (DBT) or general knowledge of Jinja templating in Python. Hands-on experience with cloud provider integration and automation via CLIs and APIs.
