Position Title: Data Architect

Location: Theale / Remote

Responsibilities:

As a Data Architect you will:

  • Plan, design, develop and maintain the data architecture, data models and standards for various Data Integration & Data Warehouse projects within our Snowflake Data Warehouse
  • Ensure new features and subject areas are modelled to integrate with existing structures to provide a harmonized view
  • Define data architecture principles, standards, strategies, policies and the application of industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modelling
  • Design robust, scalable and extensible data pipelines
  • Interface with lines of business on their Data Enablement needs and synthesizing those needs into new product ideas for data ingestion, modelling, storage, transformation and consumption
  • Continuously deliver incremental value to delight our internal stakeholders
  • Establish comprehensive architecture roadmaps and testing plans

Required Skills: 

  • Prior hands-on experience implementing an enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Ability to build relationships and be a strategic partner within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams
  • Ability to grasp all aspects of a data ecosystem
  • Demonstrated working experience implementing robust and scalable modern data pipelines
  • Expertise in Snowflake – data modelling, ELT using Snowflake SQL, implementing complex stored Procedures and standard DWH and ETL concepts
  • Proven track record in data analysis or the development of data requirements, data flow analysis, and data specifications, as well as hands on experience with data profiling and assessment
  • Familiarity with a range of data management, Business Intelligence, and Data Science approaches and the latest, tools, approaches, techniques, and methodologies in data and analytics development management
  • Deep understanding and appreciation for both business and technology components of information management in financial services industry
  • Proven track record in meeting aggressive deadlines in an environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience with highly sensitive financial services and/or consumer data, and maintaining its security as a top priority; understanding big data and technology at scale
  • Knowledge and expertise of US/EU privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA
  • Ability to communicate at the team and executive levels, risks, and change management in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience with AWS or Azure data storage and management technologies such as S3 and ADLS.
  • Must have experience in Agile development methodologies
