Job Details:

General Notes

This position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.

Purpose

This position is to perform experiments and provide support for ongoing research on retinal development and regeneration.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct scientific experiments utilizing genetic and molecular biology techniques.

• Conduct experiments on retinal regeneration.

• Assist with the maintenance of laboratory equipment and computers, help with compliance on safety issues, help with ordering and training undergraduate lab assistants.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology or similar scientific degree. Ability to perform molecular biology-based experiments. Ability to communicate well and take initiative. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least one year of experience working in a non-class-based laboratory. Previous cell or molecular biology experience highly desirable.

Salary Range

$40,000 + depending on qualifications
