Overview of Role

66degrees is looking for smart, energetic, and personable technology business professionals for a Cloud Data Architect position. We are looking for someone with a broad range of skill sets with 5+ years of relevant experience.

As a Cloud Data Architect you will be a part of data management and engineering projects within GCP environments, including migrating, analyzing, and managing data structures within GCP. Assist in the design, definition, development, and testing of GCP data solution components. Capable of quickly adapting and building plans around migrating data from legacy applications. Work closely with the GCP Security Team and other SME roles to ensure datastores are protected. Liaise between clients and developers to ensure that all data requirements are met.

66degrees is based in Chicago and Denver. This position is 100% remote and will work closely with our teams in the US and India. Responsibilities would include:

• Build a trusted advisory relationship with strategic accounts and engage with management. 
• Identify customer priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the Google ecosystem to deliver business growth and resolve blockers.
• Lead requirements gathering and project scoping.
• Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online.
• Work with data scientists and software engineers suggest architecture around data acquisition activities, data solution ideation, and implementation.
• Provide extensive technical, strategic advice and guidance to key stakeholders around the data utilization, organization and implementation effort.
• Attend status meetings, coach more junior team members.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with data engineering, data architecture, or working with data infrastructure
• 3+ years of experience with working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or a platform including Azure or AWS
• Experience with the primary managed data services within GCP, including Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, or BigQuery
• Experience with serverless architectures like Could Functions, Cloud Run or other platforms like AWS Lambda
• Experience with Orchestration tools like like Airflow/Cloud Composer, CDAP/Cloud Data Fusion or other 3rd parties
• Experience designing cloud solutions from scratch or improving on existing enterprise implementations
• Hands on development in common programming languages such as Python or Java
• BA or BS degree
• Experience in migrating legacy databases and applications
• Cloud Data Engineer or Cloud Data Architect certification

Nice to Have

• Experience with Data Science forward applications such as Cloud Dataproc or Jupyter Notebooks
• Experience with configuration management software such as Terraform
