Principal Data Scientist

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.

Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.

Things you’ll do:

• Prototype and build data models and explorations to understand cloud scale data and its impact on security
• Champion and consult on data solutions that identify risk, scale alerting and mitigation solutions across Oracle's cloud

 

Must have Qualifications:

• Good understanding of data mining, data processing, data science, data modeling, and hypothesis testing
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Quantitative, Computational, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data science or security related field
• Programming skills in Python, R, or Java
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Expertise in building scalable and distributed analysis solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cloud Data Center Operations
• Experience with data visualization and presentation, turning complex analysis into insight
• Experience with statistical/mathematical predictive modeling
• Experience with machine learning / artificial intelligence
• Experience collaborating with software development teams, data scientists, business or other technical roles

US: Hiring Range: from $109,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
