Lead Data Analyst - Risk Analytics

As a Lead Data Analyst on the Risk Analytics team, you will be working with a team of talented risk analysts and data specialists to solve risk challenges such as fraud, abuse and sabotage to make Gojek a Safe and Trusted platform. Working closely with on-demand business teams including GoFood, GoMart, Transport & Logistic etc., you will perform research, manage data assets, perform reporting and develop solutions to manage risks in a super app ecosystem. The role reports to the Head of Risk Analytics at Gojek. 

What You Will Do

• Ask bold questions and test hypothesis regarding existence and prevalence of risk, fraudulent and unsafe behaviors in the platform, and act as a subject matter expert in understanding the variety and prevalence of user behaviors on the platform,
• Design experiments, exploratory studies, and use advanced analytics to test key hypothesis; own and run the testing agenda for developing new insights and influence roadmaps proposed by data science, strategy and broader analytical teams, 
• Develop innovative techniques to detect fraudulent activities by analyzing large datasets of user behavior  and transactions, be a thought partner for statistically sound experimentation at Gojek Risk
• Work with the team to mine a large pool of user behavioral data to investigate abnormal behavior patterns, label bad actors for modeling or analytics purposes
• Develop an active learning process to combine human labeling and machine-learning models to label bad actors in Gojek platform
• Propose risk detection strategies incorporating various risk signals and models outputs to identify suspected bad actors for analyst investigation
• Own a roadmap for maturing data assets used across Gojek Risk organization for multiple risk strategies to improve effectiveness and time-to-delivery of risk strategies 
• Provide people management support to the team of analysts, including guidance and mentorship, and assist in projects delivery 

What You Will Need

• Ph.D, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative disciplines or Computer Science  
• Experience in managing a team of geographically distributed analysts is a must
• Minimum 7 years work experience in analytical, problem-solving roles within a fast paced environment (prior experience in risk management is preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of concepts related to experiment design, A/B testing, statistics, hypothesis testing, user behavior research, on-line experiments, 
• Adept at managing and using for analysis both structured & unstructured data and using visualization tools and programming languages such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, Metabase, Python/R, SQL,
• Exposure to cloud environments like GCP or AWS, good understanding of data engineering, incl. data querying, data modeling, data transformations, data visualization,
• Excellent written & verbal English communication skills to effectively collaborate and exchange information across stakeholders of various backgrounds and levels
• Knowledge of handling analytics for a digital platform, such as digital payment, ride-hailing, food delivery or e-commerce will be a plus, but is not a prerequisite

About the Team 
Our objective as Gojek’s Risk Team is to ensure a safe and trusted platform that our users can trust, rely on, and love to come back to. To manifest that objective, we analyze suspected fraud cases and customer complaints and propose resolutions & SOP to improve Trust and Safety for all Gojek users. We use big data with human intelligence to make the best decision. For instance, team members will work with Risk managers and Business teams to detect potential risks on Gojek platform and develop logic and algorithm to accurately establish the ground truth of the risk types and modus operandi and work with risk managers to come up with solutions to prevent and mitigate losses and improve user experience. 
Our Risk Analytics team currently consists of members based in Indonesia, India and Singapore and we’re a tight-knit group who are bonded by two things: Trust and Safety and personal growth and well-being. Risk Analytics encompasses the following 4 areas: risk performance analytics, risk metrics and foresight, risk research, risk data assets.
