Picket Houses, Inc. seeks a full time Lead Data Scientist at our offices located at 318 1st Avenue S, Suite 310, Seattle, WA 98104.
Job Description:Work closely with executives, real estate professionals, product managers, and engineers to build and implement dynamic models, algorithms, and analysis to predict fair market rental and sale prices, forward appreciation curves, and risk-adjusted investment projections through the incorporation of geo-spatial, financial, real estate, census, and any other relevant data sources, analytics and models.

Duties Include

  • Utilize professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex data analytical issues utilizing machine learning and advanced modeling to deploy investor capital into the SFR space;
  • Work on complex data analytical issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors;
  • Work independently to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results;
  • Network with key experts as necessary;
  • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments; 
  • Manage and coordinate activities of more junior data scientists
  • Perform data modeling implementations utilizing C++, Python, R or similar languages; and
  • Perform technical writing, including visual diagramming

Position Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computational Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science or similar discipline plus one year of experience as a Data Scientist within the Finance or Real Estate industry or related role. 

  • Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include the following:  
  • One year of experience utilizing any SQL database;
  • One year of experience in data analysis and visualization utilizing NumPy, Pandas, Tableau, and Excel;
  • One year of experience performing data modeling implementations utilizing C++, Python, and R;
  • One year of experience utilizing Git, Linux, AWS and other similar software tools and cloud services;
  • One year of experience writing technical documents including visual diagramming tools; and
  • One year of experience with the complete software lifecycle including best practices in testing and deployment.
*Position is eligible for Employee Referral Program.
Salary: $166,000/year.
