Engineering Manager (Data Analytics Systems)

About CSIT CSIT develops products to advance the national security interests of Singapore. We use our products in a wide range of use-cases, including but not limited to Counter-terrorism and Computer Network Defence. We are looking for talented engineering managers to lead and build mission-critical products that identify, analyse, and investigate threats. Role As an engineering manager in the Big Data Engineering team, you will set the technical direction and lead the development of critical data ingest pipelines related to national security. You will be involved in complex Big Data projects to collect, parse, and process large datasets with the aim to turn them into useful information and insights for users. Join the awesome family and use cutting-edge technologies to protect the nation. Responsibilities ·       Lead engineering teams to develop ETL data pipelines·       Be the subject matter expert and role model for the team·       Bring industry standards and best practices to the team·       Advocate agile and LEAN software development processes·       Synergise the team to drive innovation·       Influence decisions and drive improvements with technical leadership·       Create and manage high performance engineering team·       Create the best environment and condition for innovation·       Introduce industry standards and best practices to the team·       Be involved in hiring process to attract and hire the best engineer·       Grow team capabilities through coaching and mentoring·       Work closely with the team to develop ETL data pipelines that is scalable and maintainable·       Involve in technical discussions with the team and key stakeholders to solve Big Data problems·       Understand and identify technology and system pitfalls for the team·       Maximise technical delivery: setup, develop, build, test, and deploy Requirements Minimum qualifications·       5+ years of experience in Big Data engineering·       Proven experience in writing optimised ETL code to handle large datasets·       Proven experience with the following technologies: Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Elastic Stack, Kudu·       Proven experience in using DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines effectively·       Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent·       Competent in programming languages such as Scala or Java·       Excellent communication skills·       Positive attitude and excellent teamwork·       Passionate and self-driven
