Senior Data Engineer

The Position

KAYAK is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to be part one of our Architect team in Kaunas. Our team is constantly iterating, designing, and coding our way to excellence. We're building the compelling user experiences that keep our product a step ahead of the competition. Requirements

• 5+ years strong Python programming experience;

• Strong SQL knowledge;

• Experience with REST API’s; 

• Experience in Unix shell scripting; 

• Experience in data modeling;

• Experience in AWS S3;

• Knowledge of Python frameworks/libraries like Django, Flask, Pandas. 

Plus:

• Experience writing NoSQL (elasticsearch) queries is a plus;

• JAVA programming skills is a plus;

• Experience in Kafka is a plus;

• Experience writing custom Kafka consumers is a big plus;

• Knowledge of Apache Spark/Apache Flink is a plus;

• Knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, Presto, AWS Athena  is a plus;

• ML knowledge is a small plus.

Compensation

Senior Data Engineer's salary consists of three parts:
Base part: when joining us early in your career your salary may start from 1970 EUR neto (after paying tax). Being more experienced, your base salary may be up to 3350 EUR neto (after paying tax) for this position.
In addition:

• meaningful yearly bonuses approx 10 percent annual salary;
• Booking Holdings RSU (Restricted Stock Units) package, worth 20.000 USD (before taxes) with possibility to get it every year.

Salary range provided is not final and will be discussed during the process based on your skills and experience.
