Job Summary:

 

Under the direction of the Department Head of Imaging Physics and Radiation Protection, the imagine physics staff assist with the provision and development of the Medical Imaging and Radiation Protection Services for the Province of Manitoba. This job description gives a general outline of the post and is not intended to be inflexible or a final list of duties.  It may therefore be amended from time to time in consultation with the incumbent.

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Post-graduate degree in medical physics, or equivalent discipline (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)

  • Membership or registration in appropriate governing body.

  • Certified with the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (or equivalent) or be eligible for membership.

  • A minimum of six years of post-degree clinical imaging experience

  • Advance professional training and experience in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology

  • Work outside of standard daytime working hours (e.g., evenings or weekends) may be required at times

  • Experience in acceptance and quality assurance testing.

  • Knowledgeable in NEMA standards

Preferred:

  • Post-graduate degree will be from a CAMPEP-accredited university program or equivalent

  • Fellowship in the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine

  • Commitment to continuing professional development

  • Teaching and research experience.

Asset:

  • Ph.D. in associated field

  • Excellent demonstrated organizational skills

  • Strong track record of excellent performance and success in collaborative, team environments 

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Experience with program planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation
