STR develops advanced analytics to find connections, patterns, and threats in both structured and unstructured data. Our customers are overwhelmed with data and need effective methods to index and search for the information they need in extremely large datasets. Recent advances in graph analytics offer a compelling approach to addressing this need. However, questions remain. How can AI be used to align entities from different data sources? What algorithms can be used to efficiently search very large graphs? Are there novel machine learning techniques for generating new insights from the data? This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in research and development of graph analytics.

The Role:
Work as part of a tightly-knit team to lead the design, development, implementation, and demonstration of advanced graph analytics.

  • Lead teams to analyze structured and unstructured datasets to identify patterns and design algorithms
  • Prototype and test graph analytics and algorithms
  • Work with the team to evaluate algorithms on large-scale data as part of an integrated team of researchers and software engineers
  • Work with the government and other contractors to define relevant metrics, test protocols, and delivery schedules
  • Present analytics, methods, and test results to our customers and other stakeholders
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Publish results in academic journals and conferences

Who You Are:

  • MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or BS with research experience
  • Background in at least one of: machine learning on large-scale data, graph analytics, statistics, algorithm development, or related fields
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating technical content to diverse audiences
  • Experience with at least one modern language such as Python, C/C++, or Java
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Even Better:

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Ph.D. in one of the disciplines above
  • Experience developing and deploying graph analytics on structured and unstructured data
  • Experience with knowledge representation (e.g., property graphs, ontologies, semantic web), text analytics, information retrieval, pattern recognition, anomaly detection, or graph/entity alignment
  • Experience with graph database technologies such as RDF, SPARQL, Neo4J, Dgraph, JanusGraph, Gremlin, Tinkerpop
