This role is within our Residency Offering, which is a solution that provides strategic technical resources to our customers on a contractual basis.

• M-F 8-5 pm EDT
• Onsite in NYC near 59th Street and Lexington Street
• 6 month contract
• $90-$100 hourly
• Ability to travel to London for 1 week in July for training

Key Responsibilities:

Our client, a global provider of business and financial news, analysis, data, and video content, serving a diverse audience worldwide is looking for a skilled Power BI Architect/Developer with strong SQL expertise to join their team. The ideal candidate will be based in New York City, collaborating with teams in both New York City and London.  

This is a contract opportunity to architect and develop Power BI solutions including configuring ON PREMISE Power BI Report Server with SQL Server Enterprise Edition CORE BASED and Software Assurance (client will procure and install).

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and configure ON PREMISE Power BI Report Server, leveraging SQL Server
• Develop and write Power BI reports, ensuring accurate and insightful data visualization
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams in New York and London to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions
• Re-create 100 reports in Power BI from existing Tableau and homegrown reports
• Work closely with web application developers to embed Power BI reports on a subscriber website behind a pay-wall

What you will need to succeed:

• 5+ years SQL knowledge
• 5+ years Power BI knowledge
• Proven experience in architecting and configuring ON PREMISE Power BI Report Server
• Demonstrated ability to develop, optimize and troubleshoot Power BI reports
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and data visualization concepts
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams in different locations
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as a consultant/contractor.
• A bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or similar field
• Power BI certifications are a plus
