Do you want to be a leader within an international, growing Compliance function, working for one of Europe’s largest FinTech/disruptor-banks, that wants to revolutionize the financial industry?
Klarna is looking for new members to strengthen the MLRO function. We are looking for a Compliance Manager to lead our operations across some European countries as an EU MLRO.

Your day to day will include:

  • Monitor and regularly control that Klarna Bank is complying with external rules within certain EU Markets and Klarna’s internal rules.
  • Provide advice and support to Klarna Banks’s employees, contractors and other persons involved in its activities regarding AML/CTF, Compliance and GDPR in a similar capacity.
  • To establish and maintain adequate arrangements for awareness and training in relation to AML/CTF across multiple jurisdictions;
  • To act as the central liaison with regard to Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing between Klarna Bank and several EU Financial Service Authorities, Police and any other relevant authorities and law enforcement agencies including complying with court orders and other orders imposed by the authorities, and to act cooperatively and responsibly in this manner.
  • Control and regularly assess whether internal rules and procedures to prevent the business being used for Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing are appropriate and effective.
  • Control and regularly assess whether internal rules and procedures to comply with relevant applicable national laws are appropriate and effective.
  • Lead and follow up on applicable reporting obligations across certain key European markets.
  • Provide recommendations to the relevant stakeholders based on the observations made.
  • Support alignment within the MLROs in the Group.
  • Responsibility for SAR reporting (including but limited to decision making and monitoring) and ensuring that information is provided to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in the manner stipulated, when this is applicable.

Requirements:

  • Degree of Master of Laws, Master in Science of business and economics or other relevant degree.
  • Documented experience from Financial Service Industry, from FinTech-companies, or other relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of (i) patterns and methods of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, (ii) Compliance best practices and (iii) GDPR.
  • In addition, it is a plus to possess one of the following language skills: Czech or Greek.
  • The EU Operations MLRO shall keep skills and knowledge regarding Compliance, GDPR, Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) matters up to date by: Attending relevant training, workshops and external seminars; Subscribing to relevant newsletter, press releases and published reports.
