The Role: We are looking for an exceptional Data Engineer to build a large and complex data warehouse environment to power our BI platform for Global Private Brands. The goal of this platform is to deliver reporting solutions, interactive visualizations and self-service analytics that provides deep insights to support business analysis and decision making. To succeed in this role, you will have deep expertise in creation and management of huge datasets and the proven ability to translate the data into meaningful insights through collaboration with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) and Business Users. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly analytical, comfortable diving deep and making data driven decisions with a strong customer focus.

Responsibilities Include:
· Own end-to-end development of data engineering solutions
· Design, implement and support an analytical data infrastructure including management of AWS resources like Redshift fleets on which the data will be hosted
· Partner closely with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies
· Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs) to recognize and help adopt best practices in reporting and data analysis
· Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency
· Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years of Data Engineering development experience
• Solid experience in data modeling, ETL development and data warehousing
• Advanced knowledge and expertise of SQL
• Experience with AWS data warehouse and reporting technologies like Redshift, Athena, RDS, S3, etc.
• Proven track record of successful communication of data infrastructure, data models, and data engineering solutions through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of scripting for automation (e.g. Python)
• Experience with other AWS technologies like EMR and Kinesis
• Experience with reporting tools like Tableau, Excel or other BI packages
• Familiarity with statistical models and data mining algorithms
• Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization
