Data Scientist (YVR)

We are hiring a product data scientist for our Catalyst team located in Vancouver. The mission of this team is to empower Asanas to efficiently build, instrument, and learn from product changes. You will be working on building a unified experimentation system, unlocking rapid testing & learning across all areas of Asana product, and scaling our frameworks and workflows to enable us to launch into new markets faster. 

As a Product Data Scientist for the Catalyst team, you partner closely with Engineering and the rest of the Data team to help set the strategy and proactively inform the direction with data so that Asana can be more efficient in delivering great things to the world. You will develop various skills as a full-stack Data Scientist working on projects end-to-end.

What you’ll achieve

  • Designing and analyzing the effectiveness of new systems and informing the roadmap
  • Adding new metrics and aggregations to our data warehouse to make new classes of questions answerable
  • Developing scalable methodologies that will enable non-technical stakeholders to make quick data-driven decisions 

About you

  • Bachelor Degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in applying data science techniques to drive technical product development and decision-making
  • Strong technical background in experimentation, statistical analysis, and math
  • Fluency in at least one data processing and programming language (e.g. Python, Scala)
  • Proficiency with relational data modeling and SQL
  • Familiarity with distributed data processing systems (e.g. Spark, Redshift)
  • Strong ability in managing multiple stakeholders, communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences, and crafting compelling stories.
  • Experience in scoping and planning projects with stakeholders, and driving technical execution.
