Senior Technical Product Manager - Machine Learning

The Lead Product (Platform) Success Manager  will be hyper-focused on enabling the Data Science and ML Engineering teams to drive successful outcomes leveraging ML Platforms. Through tight partnership with partner teams and through deep alignment with Product teams, this person will surface insights from the customer and work with the ML Platforms PMs to prioritize the work. This person will capture desired outcomes and map the use case-specific journeys of the Data Science teams and directly influence the product roadmap.

This person will act as a trusted advisor to ML Platforms’ users by enabling them to use our products to conduct end to end ML lifecycle and achieve business objectives. Partner with users to develop and execute ML Platforms usage and success plans, by leveraging programmatic and technical strategies to meet the business objectives and stakeholder goals. Work with users to remove technical barriers and drive broader ML Platforms adoption. Further, recommend best practices to accelerate their onboarding and migration plans. Act as a user advocate for product features and requirements.

KPIs you will own and drive:

1. Adoption (users, models) on to the platform
2. Velocity gain (e.g. time to onboard, reduction in subsequent support requests)
3. ML Plats NPS (support and onboarding)

The Work

1. Own and drive the DS partnerships and serve as the PM for three data science teams when evaluating ML Plats, design/architecture support, onboarding and velocity gain
2. Leverage your deep knowledge of distributed systems engineering to build Wayfair’s next generation Machine Learning capabilities
3. Understand technical requirements for ML Platforms, synthesize them into investment themes and OKRs, partner with product managers to prioritize backlog
4. Capture desired outcomes for the Data Science teams and map model lifecycle and directly influence the platform roadmap
5. Think outside of the current technology/stack limitations to push the boundaries on what is possible and deliver feasible solutions collaboratively
6. Be the subject matter expert of Wayfair’s ML capabilities
7. Market your product internally to various departments to ensure all available users know about your product and how they could value from it
8. Translate business initiatives into engineering stories/tickets, allowing engineering to run with your ideas
9. Maintain a project plan and roadmap, keeping stakeholders and constituents up to date on the top level goals and timelines
10. Regularly communicate our quarterly/monthly goals and progress to keep business stakeholders apprised of your work and product progress

Your Background

• 5+ years of experience of product management or platform success role for a Saas product working with internal and external customers
• Technical background/experience to be able to self troubleshoot technical issues, drive high level implementation discussions, and create customer adoption and success plans
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Hands on experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Familiarity to Airflow, Containers, Kubernetes, Microservices, ML frameworks
