Ardent is seeking a Principal Data Architect to join our team - this is a remote role.  

As a Principal Data Architect, you will be creating modern IT solutions that are future-ready, adaptable, resilient, responsive to changing business needs and be able to shift away from on-premise infrastructure to cloud architecture, while being offered the opportunity to embrace the impact of AI and ML technologies, to drastically improve the overall customer experience. You and your team will provide expertise and technical support in designing, creating, reviewing, and maintaining XML and JSON resources; providing technical support to other projects to ensure effective use and implementation of these resources; and providing expertise and technical support for international standards and the nationalized implementation of them for the US Federal Government. 

Candidate Skills Include:

  • Expert-level experience designing, creating, reviewing, and maintaining XML and JSON resources (e.g., DTDs, XML Schemas, JSON schema, structure, WSDLs documents).
  • Experience designing and building enterprise-scale data architecture that integrates varied domain database environments.
  • Experience with data modeling and database design for both RDBMS and NoSQL systems; Familiarity with tools like Embarcadero E/R Studio.
  • Expert knowledge of data formats, data structures, and ETL processes.
  • Experience planning, managing, and providing technical oversight for enterprise-scale data architecture activities. 
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework, Web Services, Spring Framework, Google App Engine, and Java/ J2EE Framework.
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment with Scrum/Kanban using tools like Rally.
  • 3+ years of experience researching, planning, moderating, and facilitating usability sessions and focus groups.
  • Extensive experience working with and manipulating XML and JSON data formats, including the use of XPath and XSL (XSLT and XSL-FO) transformations.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform cloud services.
  • Experience working with common standards, including W3C, OASIS, Unicode, ISO, & WIPO.

Ideal Candidates Have:

  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud database services.
  • Ability to write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries.
  • Experience with data architecture paradigms, data modeling, and data engineering.
  • Knowledge of data mesh, data fabric, microservices, and solution architecture.
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Hive, Tomcat, Solr, Spark.
  • Experience with automated deployment, performance testing, load testing; CI/CD.
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism).
  • Knowledge of Role-Based Access and Control (RBAC) and similar IAM solutions.
  • Experience using the Python programming language and knowledge of standard artificial and machine learning techniques; AI/ML prototyping with Adobe CS, Sketch, InVision, Axure.
  • Experience with encryption and endpoint security.
  • Knowledge of Near and Far Data Objects.
  • Experience with UI frameworks like Angular and React.

Requirements

  • BS or other relevant degrees
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Senior Data Architect, Data Engineer and Data Analyst
