About Us:

YipitData is the leading market research firm for the disruptive economy, and recently raised up to $475M from The Carlyle Group at a valuation over $1B.

We analyze billions of data points every day to provide accurate, detailed insights on ridesharing, e-commerce marketplaces, payments and more. Our on-demand insights team uses proprietary technology to identify, license, clean and analyze the data many of the world’s largest investment funds and corporations depend on.

We are one of Inc’s Best Workplaces - a fast-growing technology company with offices located in NYC (where we are based in), Hong Kong, and Shanghai, backed by Norwest Venture Partners and The Carlyle Group with a strong culture focused on mastery, ownership, and transparency.

About the Role:

We have been growing at record-speed, thriving in a disruptive environment as our data-driven research service has become more valuable than ever. As our first Data Operations Manager, you will solve one of our company’s biggest challenges by building out and scaling a team (currently 2 team members, growing to 5+ by EOY) that owns the training, development, and hiring function for the entire Investor Data team at YipitData (currently ~60 team members, growing rapidly over the next few years). You will have the opportunity to determine the strategy, advise on execution, and scale your own team to support the Investor Data team, which builds our best-in-class products that drive our company’s success.

In this role, you will manage our growing Data Enablement team. The Data Enablement team mission is to ensure that we are able to successfully scale the Investor Data team through effective hiring and that the entire Investor Data team has the training (technical and non-technical), development, and support to scale rapidly and efficiently.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2+ years managing a team, experience in a technical training and development role (bootcamp, L&D at a tech startup covering SQL, Python, or other programming), and a track record of success in a fast-paced environment. Anyone who meets these criteria and has an interest in developing talent and scaling a rapidly growing team is encouraged to apply. This role is part of the Product Operations team and is a remote-friendly opportunity that can sit in NYC (where our headquarters is located) or anywhere in the US.

YipitData’s Investor business growth is fueled by launching new products built by our Investor Data team. The effective hiring, training, and development of our Investor Data team is essential for YipitData to hit our massive growth goals over the coming years. This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly visible and impactful role at the company.

As our first Data Operations Manager you will:

  • Determine the strategy and build the operations to manage our new and growing Data Enablement team
  • Manage the training, development, hiring strategy, and headcount planning for a record number of Investor Data team members
  • Be accountable for training & development success of all Investor Data team members
  • Manage the facilitation of our 2 month new hire training program, working closely with Investor Data team managers to ensure successful onboarding
  • Develop ongoing training & development resources for all Investor Data team members beyond new hire training
  • Be accountable for determining our Investor Data team hiring strategy including optimizing our interview questions and assignments
  • Manage key parts of our Investor Data team interview process including grading take-home assignments that involve the analysis of a large dataset
  • Measure outcomes from our recruiting/training efforts and improve these processes as we scale

You are likely to succeed if:

  • You are excited to build out and manage a new team with a huge impact on our company’s growth
  • You are motivated to hit our massive hiring and training goals over the next few years
  • You have 5+ years of work experience and 2+ years of experience managing a team (in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus!)
  • You have technical skills such as SQL, Python, or other programming experience
  • You have experience in training and development in a technical role
  • You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and can manage many parallel processes and complex projects at the same time with different timelines, priorities, and stakeholders
  • You are interested in scaling an organization with a focus on efficient execution
  • You can effectively prioritize opportunities based your understanding of the Investor Data team and our company needs and strategy
  • You have strong attention to detail and organizational skills

What We Offer:

  • Our compensation package includes equity and highly competitive salary
  • We care about your personal life and we actually mean it. We offer flexible work hours, a hybrid/remote work environment, unlimited vacation, a generous 401K match, parental leave, team events, a wellness budget, learning reimbursement, WFH budget for remote workers, and more!
  • Through our HR platform, you’ll get to choose from a variety of health plans starting at no monthly out-of-pocket premium, dental, vision, 401k match, and commuter benefits!
  • Your growth at YipitData is determined by the impact that you make - not by tenure, unnecessary facetime, or office politics. Everyone at YipitData is empowered to learn, self-improve, and master their skills in an environment focused on ownership, respect, and trust.
