Team Description:

We enable this via our innovative mobile application, optimized delivery network, as well as leveraging a highly scalable platform and best in class data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will apply state-of-art technologies of natural language processing and information retrieval in improving Coupang search. He/she will publish papers in reputable conferences and deploy the advanced search algorithms in production. Some example projects include:

1. BERT (or large language model)-based query rewriting and spelling correction: We want to evaluate whether we can use large language model to rewrite the customers’ defective search queries to a well-formed query.
2. BERT-based NER: we will use large language models to detect entitles from queries and product descriptions such as brand, color and size.
3. E-ecommerce Knowledge Graph: We want to build e-commerce knowledge graph to improve Coupang Search and Recommendation. Especially we want to research how can we scale human labeling with the help of machine learning and deep learning approaches.

Qualifications:

• Master student in relevant fields such as Natural Language Understanding, machine learning, information retrieval, Computer Vision.
• Good communication skills in both Korean and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• D. candidates in relevant fields such as Natural Language Understanding, machine learning, information retrieval, Computer Vision.
• Relevant publications in reputable conferences such as KDD, ACL, WSDM, NIPS, ICLR., etc.
• Excellent communication skills in both Korean and English.
