Your Impact

Axon is seeking a high-energy, experienced Crime Analyst with expertise in Power BI and/or SSMS reports, dashboards, and analytics. This individual will play an instrumental role in configuring the system databases to prepare the Axon software applications analytics, author and configure Power BI/SSMS reports, dashboards, and analytics per customers needs, delivering and maintaining training strategies, plans, and instructional materials/program deliverable for customer deployments. We need a self-starter who excels in a high-paced, evangelistic startup environment, focusing on law enforcement, and building strong customer relationships.

Location: Remotely from United States (Travel is required estimated 20% monthly)

  • Be part of a team that consults with product engineers, program managers, and our clients to build public safety software implementation programs that support the successful implementation of Axon software systems
  • Partner with our public safety client agencies to understand their business processes, organizational needs, and how our products achieve their digital transformation objectives for their reporting and analytics needs
  • Configure system databases to prepare the Axon Dispatch, Records, and Standards analytics
  • Author and configure Power BI and/or SSMS reports, dashboards, and analytics as needed for our customers
  • Train public safety agencies on Power BI and/or SSMS reporting capability in Axon’s applications
  • Build tools that support our clients to successfully manage and navigate the digital transformation journey within their own agencies
  • Deliver and maintain training strategies, plans, and instructional materials/program deliverable for customer software deployments
  • Use effective instructional design methodologies and technologies as it relates to reporting & analytics
  • Communicate testing plans, training plans, activities, and outcomes to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Axon Academy on the development of eLearning training assets and delivery via Axon’s learning management system
  • Partner with the product engineering teams to assess content, system developments/customization to maintain testing/training materials, and update for clients as needed
  • Be a product subject matter expert (SME) in crime analytics and reporting
  • Continually assist customers in the reporting and analytics journey

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in computer science/data analytics
  • 2+ years of experience delivering and/or managing public safety software testing, training, and/or implementation projects
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical customers/colleagues.
  • Exposure to software development and continuous process improvement processes
  • Proven success in transforming raw content into informative, engaging, and compelling learning experiences
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, internal/external communications, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Requires the ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision while maintaining focus on achieving optimal outcomes as part of a collaborative development effort
  • Intellectual curiosity, autonomy, accountability, and positive approach
  • Technical Expert in SQL management studio, Power BI, or similar reporting language
  • Deep level understanding of Public Safety crime analysis
  • Experience with any and/or all of the following:
    • Next Generation 911 (NG911)
    • Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
    • Records Management Systems (RMS)
    • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 81,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 144,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
