The Opportunity

UTR Sports is building innovative, cutting-edge technology products and services to help empower and enhance every part of the tennis (and more recently pickleball) ecosystem (players, coaches, clubs, organizers, federations, etc.). We are looking for a detail oriented Manager of Business Intelligence that  will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of comprehensive business intelligence strategies and ad hoc reporting solutions. You will lead a team of analysts in transforming data into actionable insights that empower stakeholders across the organization to make informed decisions. This role requires strong leadership, analytical expertise, and an ability to manage and prioritize varied projects effectively. You will work cross functionally with the Accounting, Sales, Product, Marketing and Data Science teams.

What you Will Do

  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for business intelligence and ad hoc reporting initiatives aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of analysts to drive excellence in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide insights that support decision-making at all levels.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of ad hoc reports and analyses to address immediate business needs and inquiries.
  • Manage and optimize BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness of business intelligence solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

What you Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Demonstrated prior experience working with senior management or clients on priority business initiatives and KPI reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (3+ years), data visualization tools (e.g., Periscope, Power BI - 2+ years), and ad hoc reporting techniques.
  • Experience presenting, visualizing and working with and reconciling in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience visualizing, working with, and reconciling data in Python using Jupyter/Google Collab or R
  • Familiar with the following data structures: lists, dictionaries, tuples, DataFrames, arrays
  • Familiar with the following Python libraries or similar ones in R: NumPy, Pandas, datetime, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, string functionality
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally with a remote workforce across all levels of the organization

Benefits

What we Offer:

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $100,000 - $135,000  plus an equity compensation package. The final base salary for this role will take into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location differential associated with where the position will be filled.

UTR Sports is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA but this position is fully remote, US-based. In addition to salary and equity compensation, we offer flexible working hours and generous PTO. Our other benefits include:
