What You’ll Do

 

At their core, business analysts at Mimecast are strong in quantitative data analysis, but also want to balance that with their interest in business. The analytics team stands at the intersection of business and technology, and standing at this intersection provides a premier opportunity to further develop your career in data and analytics while being exposed to many aspects of the business.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deconstruct high-level business problems into questions that can then be answered through data-driven analysis

  • Provide analytical support to senior management and stakeholders in strategic decision-making.

  • Serve as primary business partner for Commercial Finance Pricing & Deal Strategy, Product, and Research & Development teams; deliver monthly and ad hoc reporting and analysis, inform future pricing strategies, user analysis, product forecasting, etc.

  • Lead data & analysis of Customer Value Realization; data analysis on how our product adds value to customers through usage patterns, collaborating with various teams to ensure a clear understanding of customer satisfaction and adoption

  • Create and develop effective data visualizations, presentations, and analytical products to communicate insights and guide business strategy.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability, while also driving continuous improvement and innovation in business intelligence practices.

  • Responsible for ongoing training and enablement of end stakeholders building analytical communities and deliver on self-served operating models 

  • Mentor junior analysts/interns and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives, as requested

 

What You’ll Bring

 

Requirements for this position include strong expertise in translating business problems into data/analysis context, requirements gathering, and creation of cutting-edge Tableau visualizations. Qualified candidates must be able to deliver on multiple projects over multiple timelines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Bachelor’s degree ideally in a business or quantitative subject (such as economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or finance)  

  • 6+ years of Analyst experience, with hands-on knowledge using a modern data stack: Tableau, Snowflake, dbt, & GitHub (or similar) 

  • Experience communicating facts and hypotheses using data while showcasing a range of concise communication styles verbally, written, and visually 

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a self-motivated can-do attitude, and eagerness to acquire new knowledge 

  • A good understanding of any programming language and/or statistical modelling knowledge (such as SQL, Python, Logistic Regression, Random Forest, etc.) 

  • Strong stakeholder partnership and management, fostering a culture of collaboration, data literacy and up leveling our analytics maturity

  • Building and delivering presentations to executives
