Responsibilities

Draper is actively seeking candidates to support current and future cybersecurity, machine learning, and cyber tool development projects across a variety of domains supporting the United States of America's national interest. You’ll design, implement, apply, and operationalize machine learning solutions for complex tasks on large data sets, including extracting insights from multiple disparate data sources and types, such as cyber, language, and vision. You’ll perform research in machine learning, including adversarial machine learning, algorithmic fairness, and model interpretability. You will be working on multi-disciplinary teams using a wide array of technologies and skills such as embedded systems, microelectronics, threat intelligence, fuzzing, binary analysis, and network operations. 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A total of 3+ years of relevant experience in developing software solutions, some of which leverage machine learning, within the context of cyber security  
  • OR Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, etc. 
  • Experience with/knowledge of at least 1 of the following cyber areas: 
  • Threat intelligence and threat informed defense 
  • Cyber network operations 
  • Vulnerability analysis of embedded systems 
  • Firmware and binary reverse engineering 
  • Malware analysis 
  • Experience with using machine learning techniques, ideally applied in a cyber context. This could include but is not limited to: 
  • Experience deploying models into the cloud with tooling like Docker & Kubernetes 
  • Proficient in using libraries such as PyTorch and Numpy 
  • Experience in data extraction, analysis, and communication of findings 
  • Experience performing hyperparameter optimization using algorithms such as Grid Search 
  • Proficient in programming with at least one of the following: Python, Java, R 
  • Familiarity with computer architecture, assembly languages, and operating systems 
  • Familiarity with vulnerability analysis and capability development 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely 
  • Excel in working within team settings 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra, Ida, Radare, Binary Ninja, Angr, and debuggers for both static and dynamic analysis 
  • Proficient programming in C and/or C++ 
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following: x86, ARM, MIPS, PowerPC 
  • Past participation in capture the flag competitions 
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK 
  • Experience working with Government Sponsors, particularly the DoD and the IC 
  • TS/SCI clearance 

 

Security Requirement:

  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.  
  • An existing clearance of Top Secret is preferred. However, an existing clearance of Secret is also beneficial.
