National Grid is hiring a Senior Data Analyst for our Corporate Affairs department. This position is hybrid and will be located in our Brooklyn, NY office, with significant travel to our Melville, NY office. You will perform work to support the NY Corporate Affairs as well as the Group Corporate Affairs Operations team, whilst collaborating with Corporate Affairs leadership.

The Corporate Affairs team in New York is comprised of the external affairs functions for National Grid, including Communications, Government Relations, Economic Development, Brand Marketing, Community Relations and Corporate Giving.

Job Purpose

The purpose of Corporate Affairs is to build the reputation that National Grid needs to succeed in the short and long term.

 

We are looking to hire a Data Analyst for the Corporate Affairs team in New York. They will work closely with the Operational team to interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing progress reports. 

Key Accountabilities

•    Establish and maintain automated data processes identifying areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes.
•    Analyse, track and report data for:

  •   KPIs 
  •   regular Executive Committee and Board reports
  •   production of the quarterly Corporate Affairs scorecard
  •   reputation measures 
  •   stakeholder planning grid

•    Manage NY Corporate affairs MBR/BRM data reports.
•    Oversee NY CA Compliance and audit obligations.
•    Develop and analyse data requirements to support reporting processes.
•    Work with internal stakeholders to fully understand data content.
•    Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques.
•    Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets. 
•    Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools.
•    Create data dashboards, graphs and visualisations translating complex information into meaningful data.
•    Provide benchmarking and define new process improvement opportunities.
•    Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies to generate consistent, quality data and reporting across the function.
•    Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
•    Compliance & assurance activities in the US.
 

 

Qualifications

•    3 years of experience as a Data Analyst.
•    Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, programming frameworks.
•    Experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets. 
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
•    A high level of mathematical ability and the ability to analyse, model and interpret data.
•    Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
•    Project management experience – including the ability to demonstrate good organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.  
•    Good level of networking, influencing and negotiation skills, with a range of stakeholders at senior levels. 
•    Ability to work to a high standard within tight timescales.
•    Ability to anticipate needs based on patterns. 
•    Can manage conflicting priorities while working with, and through others – maintaining alignment with National Grid's strategic direction and aims. 
•    Comfortable with ambiguity.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication.

Salary

$100k - $118k a year in Brooklyn, NY and Melville, NY.
