Summary:

We are seeking an Architect to lead our AI team develop models and algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud-based data platforms, a proven track record of building high-performance, reliable AI artifacts in scalable cloud systems. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and technical leadership, overseeing the development of innovative ideas, deployment of solutions, and ensuring that the AI artifacts meet the evolving needs of our growing business.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and engineering vision for design and development of our AI artifacts, influencing architecture decisions and driving innovation.
• Lead exploration and adoption of emerging technologies, ensuring that the AI artifacts remain at the forefront of industry advancements.
• Drive initiatives to improve  performance and availability,  applying best practices in areas such as benchmarking, evaluations, monitoring, and automation.
• Actively participate in architecture reviews, both for team as well as for stakeholders, providing insights, recommendations, and ensuring adherence to established modeling, algorithmic and evaluation principles.
• Actively participate in science reviews and guide scientists towards designs and methodologies that enhance development efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with product management to align technical strategies with business goals and contribute to the product roadmap.
• Serve as a technical evangelist, representing the organization at conferences, contributing to open-source projects, and promoting thought leadership in the industry.

 

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of combined experience in Data Science/Software Engineering
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering and system design, with proficiency in multiple programming languages.
• Proven track record in designing, evaluating, benchmarking  and deploying AI artifacts for cloud-based data platforms, with a demonstrated understanding of distributed systems, data architecture as well as randomized algorithms.
• Demonstrated familiarity with data lakes.
• Demonstrated familiarity with real time performance optimized computing.
• Demonstrated familiarity with systems for large scale sensitive data.
• Extensive experience with one of the cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or Data framework providers (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks)  and proficiency in designing scalable, and secure solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage cloud provider and other commercial software as well as open source technologies leveraged in AI stack for solution design, support and functionality needed specifically for Zscaler

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$220,000—$265,000 USD
