The AWS Email Marketing Technology team is looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who would be responsible for deriving analytical insights from data and building scalable reporting mechanisms to support those insights and optimizations for the email channel. The BIE, AWS Email Marketing Technology works in a cross-functional environment driving data-driven decision-making- builds metrics, owns the data pipelines and reporting for best-in-class campaign solutions at scale. The BIE on our team partners with other analysts, product managers, and engineering teams to develop new data-driven marketing capabilities delivering process automation and performance optimization. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Position may be located in Austin, TX, Seattle, WA or near any Amazon/AWS U.S. Corp office only. Relocation offered from within the US only to these locations.

Key job responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:

* Own the design, development, and maintenance of datasets, ongoing metrics, analyses and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
* Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.
* Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.
* Use analytical and statistical rigor to identify performance gaps and opportunities for optimization.
* Support central BI team in reporting on global marketing efforts.
* Promote best practices in ETL and mentor your team.

The AWS Email Marketing Technology team owns the customer experience and the overall impact of communications delivered through the AWS email channel. The team provides AWS global marketing stakeholders with tools, governance, and the operations support to effectively deliver programs that drive AWS growth and adoption.

Basic Qualifications


- * 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- * Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- * Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- * Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- * Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
